Big things start small

Sometimes we limit our capabilities because we think we need to have everything all together now. But the truth is, ‘Big Things Start Small’ and you must not despise the day of small beginnings. Every success story has a beginning and for most people it’s not a glamorous one.

When I started blogging I would send countless emails to people in an effort to feature them on the blog. So many people didn’t respond to my requests and at first I found it extremely hard to deal with and took it personally.  Fast forward  to almost two years and now it really does not bother me. I’m not sure if I have tougher skin or if it’s that I understand that rejection is a part of going after the things we desire but, I’m no longer affected. I understand why I do what I do and since then many have responded and said yes. This has helped to boost my confidence and understand that the ‘No’ responses are a part of the hustle.

I could list a number of celebrities who have had a similar experience.  Steve Harvey quit his job, ended up homeless and was boo’d of the stage in the early days of his stand up career. Now he has his own radio, TV and games show. JK Rowling was on benefits struggling to make ends meet before she was discovered.

I’ll say it again ‘Big Things Start Small’ so get started! Take a step of faith and go for it. There is no failure just lots of opportunities to grow.
